Correct Your Vision Problem With Trifocal Lenses

As we age, we will experience some degree of vision problems. You may have already made the move from single-vision glasses to bifocals, only to discover that parts of your vision can’t bring into focus. This is a sign that you may need trifocal lenses, and here at Dr. Dorothy Park and Associates, we're more than happy to provide with you the highest quality of trifocals you need.

The Benefits of Trifocal Lenses

Having nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism can be troublesome and even more so when you are experiencing another vision problem. Unfortunately, presbyopia can affect just about anyone aged forty and older. Presbyopia is a condition in which the lenses of the eyes stiffen up. This makes it tougher for the lenses' focusing muscles to shift between near and distant objects. Bifocals help older people to see clearly, but they don’t necessarily address the intermediate zone between your near and distance vision. As a result, you may still have trouble reading or viewing your computer screen.

Trifocal lenses are an obvious solution to this dilemma. A small third segment is located between the distance and near segment. This extra segment is optimized for shoulder-length viewing. Progressive lenses also provide intermediate and other distance correction, but this segment in the lenses tends to be relatively small and tricky for the eyes to find. This makes trifocal lenses a better option for some of our patients.

Expert Fittings from Our Experienced Eye Doctor

Our eye doctor will conduct a thorough eye and vision exam to determine whether you're suffering from presbyopia. If you have it, we will help decide whether you're likely to need trifocals instead of bifocals. Once we know your corrective prescription, we will fit your lenses with great care by marking your pupil position on the blank plastic in your frames. These marking helps the lens fabricators place your vision segments into the lenses with optimal accuracy. If you still feel that the intermediate segment is too high or too low, we can have the lenses re-fitted and remade to ensure that you're happy with the final result.
